Job Description
At E Source, we help utilities make sense of complexity in a rapidly changing landscape, and we’re looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our growing Accounting Team.
E Source is a research, data/analytics, and technology-focused professional services firm focused exclusively on the utility industry in North America. We help utilities target and serve their customers more effectively, enhance and optimize their grid, and leverage operating best practices and technologies to manage their business more effectively. Headquartered in Texas, we have 450+ employees across the US and Canada. Learn more at www.esource.com.
As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll play a key role on the Accounting Team, with a strong focus on the Accounts Receivable function while also assisting with administrative, accounting, and ad hoc tasks. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Team and support cross-departmental efforts. E Source is a high-growth, private equity-backed company in the energy and utility sector with strong organic momentum and an aggressive acquisition strategy. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting, is eager to learn, and enjoys taking ownership of critical accounting processes as the company continues to grow and scale.
In this role, you will:
Prepare customer invoices in accordance with customer contracts
Apply customer payments (ACHs, checks, wires, lockbox, etc.)
Assist with collection efforts using our automated dunning letter module within our ERP system and by collaborating with internal client service teams
Help set up billing rules and create projects in NetSuite and SuiteProjects Pro
Support audit requests and other external data requests as necessary
Communicate with project managers across several departments to ensure accurate invoicing and accounting for customer activity
Communicate with customers to resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable, including account reconciliations, posting general ledger entries, and more
Identify areas for process improvements
Serve as the on-site point of contact for the new Plano office, including coordinating visitors, deliveries, supplies, and mail
You’re likely a great fit if you:
Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting and enjoy taking ownership of your work
Bring strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy while also moving with speed
Are committed to learning and willing to be flexible as the company continues to grow and change
Can manage competing priorities while staying organized and meeting tight deadlines
Have a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork, with great communication skills and an attitude of helping others
And even better if you:
Have experience with NetSuite, SuiteProjects Pro, or other similar ERP systems
Experience and Skills to Qualify Include:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–3 years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
At E Source, you’ll work alongside people who are thoughtful, curious, and deeply knowledgeable about utility and energy systems. We value clarity over jargon, substance over flash, and collaboration over ego. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills, contribute to meaningful work, and help shape a company that plays a real role in how the energy future unfolds.
What you can expect
Excellent insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans, and paid parental leave.
A flexible time off (FTO) policy that provides paid time away from work, approved by your manager, while ensuring business needs, workload commitments, and appropriate coverage are maintained.
A 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match.
The budgeted salary for this position is $45,000 – $50,000 USD + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
This role will be hybrid with 3–5 days a week in the office. The Plano office is expected to open later in 2026; this role will be remote until the office is up and running.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We’re unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
