Job Description

This role focuses on field service for municipal and industrial pump systems throughout Michigan, with a strong emphasis on water/wastewater environments. You'll work primarily at customer sites supporting submersible pumps, lift stations, control panels, motors, valves, and related rotating equipment.


The work includes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, pump removal and installation support, commissioning/start-up assistance, control panel and VFD troubleshooting, motor testing, laser alignment, seal and bearing replacement, and some in-shop repair as needed.

Equipment You'll Work On

  • Municipal lift stations and wastewater pumping systems
  • Submersible wastewater pumps and related pumping equipment
  • Pump control panels, VFDs, floats, level controls, and instrumentation
  • Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC/control systems (Siemens experience especially helpful)
  • Electric motors ranging from 115V single-phase to 480V three-phase
  • Mechanical seals, bearings, impellers, wear rings, and other pump internals
  • Valves, actuators, and related flow control equipment
  • Additional rotating equipment including gearboxes, blowers, and similar process equipment


What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Troubleshoot, service, and maintain municipal and industrial pump systems in the field
  • Support pump installation, removal, commissioning/start-up, and site readiness activities
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues involving pumps, motors, controls, sensors, VFDs, and panels
  • Perform motor testing, wiring, panel troubleshooting, and basic control system diagnostics
  • Repair or replace mechanical seals, bearings, impellers, wear components, valves, and related parts as needed
  • Perform laser alignment, precision measurements, and equipment adjustments
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, mechanical drawings, manuals, and parts diagrams
  • Perform preventative maintenance service on customer equipment
  • Complete service documentation and communicate job status clearly with internal teams
  • Perform some in-shop repair work as needed
  • Work safely in a variety of customer environments, including occasional confined space work when required
  • Follow Tencarva and customer safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and job hazard practices

What We're Looking For

  • Field service experience involving pumps, motors, controls, or rotating equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with control panels, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, ladder logic, and 480V three-phase systems
  • Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley control platforms preferred; Siemens experience is especially helpful
  • Experience in municipal water/wastewater, lift stations, industrial wastewater, or related pump environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and service documentation
  • Experience with laser alignment, mechanical seals, bearings, motor testing, and precision measuring tools preferred
  • Comfortable working independently at customer sites and coordinating with service leadership
  • Valid driver's license required
